    Caroline Thaler

    FOUNDER

Caroline Thaler has spent over a decade studying how living organisms turn CO₂ into stone. With a PhD in biomineralization, she developed deep expertise in carbonate chemistry and climate cycles, publishing widely on the subject.

Her work has always aimed to connect scientific rigor with real-world application. After years in research, she joined Marble as a founder-in-residence, where she secured support to launch Bloomineral. She also co-founded AFEN, helping put carbon dioxide removal on the policy agenda in France.

Today, Caroline leads Bloomineral with focus and conviction, guiding strategy, partnerships, and fundraising. Her mission is clear: to prove that biomineralization can become an industrial pathway for permanent CO₂ storage.

    Julien Danzelle

    HEAD OF SCIENCE

Julien Danzelle is our Head of Science. He holds a PhD in geochemistry, where he studied how the global carbon cycle regulates climate over geological timescales. His research focused on carbon mineralization, and isotopic biogeochemistry, giving him deep insight into how minerals capture and store carbon in natural systems.

At Bloomineral, Julien leads the scientific development of the carbon-negative solution, from algae cultivation and geochemical MRV protocols, to material characterization. He bridges experimental research with process design, ensuring that Bloomineral’s approach remains scientifically rigorous and industrially relevant.

Julien’s focus is clear: transforming solid science into a reliable, scalable technology that industry can adopt with confidence

    Joseph Fiehl

    FOUNDER ASSOCIATE
Joseph Fiehl studied at McGill and Imperial College London, focusing on strategy and climate finance. He began his career at leading climate tech companies EcoVadis and Deepki, helping global firms measure and reduce emissions.

He later co-founded a bio-based construction venture and worked with a cement deeptech startup, gaining hands-on experience in scaling industrial climate solutions. At Axeleo Capital, he evaluated and funded deeptech startups across Europe, refining a sharp sense of what makes industrial innovation succeed.

At Bloomineral, Joseph drives commercial discussion, industrial partnerships, and business strategy, ensuring the company’s science evolves into real markets and meaningful impact.

    Amelie Brosse

    LAB TECHNICIAN

Amélie Brosse is an engineering student specializing in aquaculture and applied biology. She trained on algae cultivation systems, optimizing growth conditions and assessing productivity through her internships at Algaia and Guerlin, building a solid foundation in connecting marine biology with industrial processes.

At Bloomineral, Amélie supports the development of algae cultivation protocols for biomineralization. She contributes to testing biomass productivity and strengthening the biological foundations of the process.

Her work helps translate biological insights into scalable methods, bridging research and practical application in the lab.

    Ryan-John Rohan

    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Ryan-John Rohan holds an MSc in Sustainability and Social Innovation from HEC Paris and a BA in International Development from King’s College London. He has worked on projects spanning entrepreneurship, sustainability strategy, and impact investing, building a strong foundation in how climate innovation can move from concept to implementation.

At Bloomineral, Ryan-John focuses on business development and partnerships, helping connect the company’s scientific breakthroughs with industrial applications and markets. He drives efforts to scale Bloomineral’s technology from pilot to deployment, ensuring it delivers both climate and commercial value.
